Current Average life in England Insane ?

I just cannot understand why people work 9 - 5 for 40+ years of there life. They expect to retire at 65 and do things but in reality they are unable to do things they would have been able to do 20 years ago.

I understand some people enjoy there job etc.

Some people have commitments mostly to debt making them have to work etc.

Kids are no excuse in my opinion you should work 6 months then get lost somewhere with your kids + family or do something you enjoy together.

Minimum wage 9-5 for 6months a year and doing something or going somewhere is surely better than working all your life earning reasonable money and being knackered unable to do anything at 65 or worse dead.

There is a high chance when you are dead you are dead the only afterlife you will have is what people remember you by. This is pointless and I could bet anything that any dead prominent figure in history would give up any memory of them for one day alive on earth.

Everyone should do whatever they want within reasonable law no killing etc. but the current way of life in western country's is utterly insane.

We work for a reason. I people didn't work, the economy would collapse, poverty would be huge etc.

One generation may do all the hard work to support their kids. When they die, the kids will have no responsibility and the country will go into decline as nobody will be working.

Think about what happened when bin men went on strike. Now imagine that with atleast 50% of jobs.

Try that out and report back in a year. Minimum wage is barely enough to live on when you're paid every month, never mind only six times a year.
 
A thread about how bad your life is? That's all I can see from what you've posted =/

Plenty of people work 9-5 and still live satisfying lives and are able to go on holiday, have families etc etc.

What you must remember, is that life is this way for a reason.

Your plan is bonkers. If everyone had 6 months off every year what would happen to healthcare,policing,teaching, and well...everything!

Move somewhere hot able to grow food plenty of places for the current population. Grow own food eat of banana leafs and burn waste. Problem ? Could self sustain with a hour of work a day.

Im only playing devils advocate here now cos this threads gonna go down hill rapidly as everyone will come in and not see the bigger picture of what he is philosophically talking about after smoking a lot of ganja
 
I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very ****ed off.

farming is long hard work, if you want to be self sufficient be prepared to put in more work than you would in any job.

That's the ideal world. Think about the real world.

We'd all love for something like that to happen. When I was you get I had this idea of the world not using money and is all doing a job we could do and enjoyed.

Sadly, it will simply never work.

Although I agree with the principle, it is impractical for most people.
