I just had to have it

Mate, I hear that far too oten :( ....... :p

£68 for the A-wing kit an hanger/op centre
£50 for the X-Wing
£35 for the droid fighter I think
£35 for the Hoff set (scenery and snow speeder)
Think the Star Destroyer was £15, but my brother bought that!

Bargain Lego!!! :D .........think I'll stick to saving up towards my cinema room...... may even purchase the Star Wars DVD collection when I've finished it ;)

meh, not "real" lego anymore, far to many specialist pieces moulded for just that model.
I know many people think this and to be honhest I also thought the same before I started buying lego again recently (the last 3 years or so) for my sons.

Believe me todays lego kits are still just as cool and hugely envolving to build. Sure Lego has had to move with he times, but can you imagine if they hadn't? For instance all the Lego City vehicles have proper, curved mudguards. Yes this may be a custom part, but can you imagine how their stuff would look if they were limited to the old stright edged blocks and planks? These parts can be re-used numerous times to build limitless number of vehicles.

I think in the late 90's there was some pretty poor stuff, (Space Alien series?) where you did indeed have models that appeared to be made of 8 parts that could be used for nothing else, but that really is not the case now.

However, saying all that, the old stuff is still the best....Set Pimpage = On ;)

Nice, I had/have most of that apart from the two sets middle bottom :) The 928 and the rocket base bottom left where my two first space lego sets.

Found some (poor) pics on my phone from when I was checking what was there with the Star Wars models before dissassembling and packing away ...

Ultimate models ...

No I don't normally have Lego everywhere ...

Why not.... building them is relaxing I find. Good distraction.

I haven't touched Lego since I was 10 or 11 but everytime I think of them, I'll always remember holidays to caravan parks building them while it was raining. Glancing over as it was streaming down the windows.
