I'm after a detailing service in the Hampshire area. Want a fully clay and 3 stage polish to correct the horror of swirls the previous owner of my new car has imparted.

Has anyone got recommendation, or horror stories for me? Don't mind mobile, just want someone very good for my mk5 Golf.

Some ******* in your area messed me around last year, like photography anyone can pick up a rotary and claim to be a detailer, if your running a comparison don't let cost be the be all and end all, get a recommendation.

i've used http://allthatgleams.co.uk/ before and Tom was very good but you might be a little outside his catchment:

Also used http://www.hampshirevehicledetailing.co.uk/ back in 2009 who were also very good :)

Spend around £400 on some decent kit yourself, that should get you:

Entry level pressure washer.
2 good quality buckets with grit guards
Wax, interior trim cleaner, glass cleaner, car shampoo, metal polish for exhaust.
Clay bar kit with lubricant spray, auto smart tardis, wheel cleaner, brushes for wheels and interior.
Wash mitts, microfiber cloths, spray bottles, kit bag.
Dyson handheld, hose, electrical extension cable (you may already have these)

Some of that kit will last years,
Valets/details at £200 plus are a waste of time unless you can justify doing it every other month as your car will soon pick up new dirt etc.

Slumberbox, aren't you forgetting that some people are paying for the fact that they can't be arsed to do it themselves?

or have the time to spend 4hours faffing over the car - pay someone a couple of hundred to do a very deep clean & protection every 6 months and top it up yourself isn't a bad way to go
