unimportant things that annoy you

OK I'm going to add to my list:

People who say "^^this" or "+1".

Seriously, all it serves to do is inflate your post count. If you agree with what someone has said - and you have nothing else to add - then ... do nothing! Don't post! Go watch TV!

That would not be a problem if the madmins added a +1/Thanks/Like button to build up a user's reputation like you get on virtually all other forums of respectable size and community diversity.
 
Do we really need rep counters? If you've been around long enough you know who's who anyhow. You know who tends to post crap and who you agree with.

All rep counters serve to do is point out the "popular" posters to the newbies.
 
Positive feedback improves morality and the general feel good factor within a community. At present, that only exists within a minority. The majority go along feeding trolls and calling each other names.

Case in point is any thread (of which there are many) where there are hundreds of "this post was deleted by xxx, reason: yyy"

It works on Neowin for example, and that forum is managed very well and the community is very well behaved.
 
The word CHAV

Absolutely anybody can be a Chav if we take some of the posts in this forum.
Chavs used to be NEETS (not in Education, Employment or Training) but now they are everywhere including College in another thread.

My definition of a Chav is anyone not wearing a tweed jacket and bowler hat.
 
Similar to the +1 thing.
Posts on a general forum/thread, like this one,where someone posts a thought or something unique and other people for the next page seem to leach off that idea. Regurgitating that idea with their own "on top of" or "adding to" no longer making that post unique and interesting,an really adding nothing of significance.
 
Maybe already mentioned but people who have animated gifs as their avatar on forums. Its really annoying and distracting, thankfully this forum doesn't allow them.

grammer/spelling nazis. seewotididthur :D
when someone asks a question and then clearly isn't interested/doesn't pay attention to my answer
people who believe themselves superior than others
arrow in the knee comments
people who jump on bandwagons and think they're cool. eg: justin bieber haters. you don't want to listen to him? fine then don't, now shut up
