Spec Me....An alarm clock!

Evening to all the fine gentlemen (and not so fine gentlemen) of GD!

I'm after a new alarm clock, which must fulfill two criteria:

- No ticking! (Or I end up like Jack Nicholson with an axe...)
- Alarm must be LOUD. I've been known to sleep through someone using a hammer drill on the wall next to my bed, so this thing needs to put out a decent level of noise!

I realise I have asked this in GD, so I thank you all in advance for the obligatory suggestions of "get a cockerel", "watch Wallace and Gromit", "get a woman" etc etc etc .

+1 on this. Grab this off YT, save it to your phone and set as alarm. Works great. Use it as my work alarm only though lol.

I have my phone next to my bed, I want something I can put out of reach. Is a "Spec Me" thread overkill? Sure, but hey, the toaster one was fun .

Get a Lumi. Wakes you up with a gradually brightening light but backs it up with an alarm after 30 mins. Surprisingly effective.

My Sony is awesome, dont know the model no. Its 8 years old and digital so no tick and choice between radio and literally the loudest noise I have ever heard as am alarm. Also my mums alarm clock is a similar sony device and its 30 years old and still going strong.

perhaps tocky is for you:

if tocky is too expensive you could look at clocky for ~£30, but tocky looks way cooler, and you can put your own alarm on tocky

This is why making GD threads for random stuff pays off. No way I'd pay that for an alarm clock, but just loved watching that video! Cheers!
