Beginners Electric Guitar Package

Want to self teach myself the Electric Guitar, I have the determination and patience to do it, just need some advice on kit to buy.

A lot of people seem to suggest the Yamaha Pacifica 112V, is this still the case or something newer that's better nowadays?

What about an amp?

Nope, the Pacifica is still the beginner's weapon of choice.

As far as amps go, I'd take a look at Line6's Spider range.

Nowt wrong with the Spider. You could spend a bit more on something better, but when you're just starting out, why bother?

Yamaha Pacifica and Line6 Spider IV 15 watt will do the job, or the Roland Cube is always a good shout too.
