I'm looking to get some headphones and interested to know if anyone recommends either the studio or pro version Dr Dre beats ? They seem to get good reviews.

I'm not into heaphones more IEM's but from what i've heard steer well clear of these. Style over sound quality and just bass by all accounts.. Whats your budget? A good place to go to get unbiased views is head-fi.org. :)

Don't get them, I listened to the £350 ones, I was very disappointed. Give me Sennheisers over them anyday. What is your budget?

my local hmv has a large area full of headphones you can test out so if youve got a HMV anywhere near by pop in and see if its the same

Just had another look, you are in Leicester, so if I was you I would goto the HMV, they should have a stand of many different headphones. Then goto Leicester Hifi, they have a rack out to listen to some Grados and Audio Technicas. Finally just go round the corner from those and pop to Cymbiosis, though be warned you need to give them 2 days notice to go demo anything there, but they have Sennheisers to try. I recently just got myself some Sennheiser HD598's for £160, not sure on the looks of them but I do love the sound from them.

...is it just me that glanced at the thread title and read 'Dr breasts headphones' :p

Incidentally, no they are overpriced and not very good. You can do much better for the money. Not much point in going into it as others have already.

I own a pair of Beats Pro, and these are probably the only Beats overears worth getting. They are comparable to my Beyers and Senn 650 but with better build quality, the Beyers and Senns are slightly better overall for sound quality, but it depends a lot on what you are listening to.

It is subjective....there is a lot of Beats haters out there that havent even listened to them tbh. Test them and other comparable phones for yourself and decide that way....

Overpriced rubbish!

Christ you could buy a set of Denon D2000 for home listening and a pair of Senn HD25 for out and about for the same price I would pick each of the phones individually over the Beats Pro anyday.

Bleh!

They're ok if you don't mind paying 100-150% more than they're worth because they have a popular rapper's/averagely skilled producer's name on them.
Build quality on the "studio" set is pretty good, but you would expect that for the price! However, you would also expect a flat frequency response...I don't think "Dr Dre" understands this.

Sorry for double post but also +10000 to this.

Get Sennheisers.

I won a pair of the Dre pro beats last year and they're good and comfy but they're not at the level of a pair of sennheisers.

The amount of people I see with £300 headphones plugged into a bloody mobile phones with a lowest of the low mp3 decoder and DAC...
