House M.D cancelled:

Cancelled is a bit much. Laurie is leaving. It's just finishing, not being canceled. Makes perfect sense.

Laurie isn't leaving, it's getting too expensive to make an episode and they aren't making enough money on the episode's back to warrant making them in the first place.

The only way to make them cheaper to make would be if they moved production to a different country which would essentially mean that half the actors leave.

It's a stalemate position and the best thing to do is hang up their boots before they start losing money.

The latest episode was brilliant though, so it's not like the show has no pulse any more. House still has life left in it, although it's nice to see it go out on a high note.

Last episode was fantastic imo, I'm very sad to see it go, I felt if they'd been able to continue with that level of writing, it'd have lasted well.
It's still getting 8 million viewers, now what are we going to watch?

This means I'll have to get another sig made up :(

I agree that latest episode was pretty good and filmed quite cleverly though a bit predictable in places. I also agree it seems to have run it's course, there's been a few brilliant episodes but it isn't the same since Cuddy left.

Ended not cancelled.
Not suprising either since Hugh Laurie's contract was up this year, slim chance of him renewing it + Show was getting really expensive + Ratings were getting lower + Its gone on long enough. Yea too many plusses but 8 seasons is long enough, and I enjoy it more now that Cuddy is not on the show.

This was common knowledge?

It has ran its course, I hope they wrap up the loose ends nicely though and don't just leave it open.

It's a fantastic show, one of my favourites, but happy to see it going.

Laurie said before the eighth series started that it'd be his last. Regardless of the reason behind why he's leaving, the show isn't being cancelled it's ending. That's basically the point I'm making.

I watched the first season, the got bored soon into the second as all of the episodes were essentially the same:

Did it change at all?

You get a lot of those but then every few episodes you get one thats brilliant. TBH tho its not been the same for me from Season 2 (once the original team breaks up) onwards and I'm not entirely sure why I watch it any more.

I can see him assisting 13 in suicide if she worsens then taking his own life. I can see him dying at the end as all the abuse catches up. It will be sad to have no more House but it is about time.
