and btw.. if the gf ever complains about spending money on computers the standard response is would you rather me be playing at home on computers or out getting ****ed with my mates
 
just got my ssd/gfx and cooler, currently sitting at 4360.4mhz on the core, and idling at around 45c, with an arctic freezer pro 7, what sort of temps can the chip go up to under load? i think im best running intel burn test to see what it goes to at the moment

To answer this, 70C and higher is safe.

Some people get up to 80's, but I would be disappointed at that.
 
Just used the gigabyte oc utility to put it to 4.36 and checked it with cpuz

Ah, well you should also run Prime95 then for lots of hours otherwise it may not be stable, if Prime 95 stops working or a single worker stops then you need to maybe try doing it manually in the BIOS.
