Asus Maximus IV Extreme - Z

Hmm, I will check!
*scurries*

edit: yes you can, in 'boot' in advanced mode. Reduces boot times slightly. Ugly american megatrends boot but who cares? ;D
doubleedit: If you disable 'full screen logo' you can also reduce the post report display time to 1sec which reduces boot time further.

consider this niggle naggled.

Because the Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z has just two PCI-E16X slots and has the Gen3 PCI-E switches it will indeed support PCI-E3.0 with a suitable Ivybridge CPU.

As your board has a NF200 chip to add extra PCI-E lanes to increase the number of slots from 2 to 4 then you don't get PCI-E3.0 as this NF200 is not capable of passing this signal through.

* PCI-E3.0 has been tested vs 2.0 using the new ATI7970 card and the difference seems to be little.

* Your board will still accept Ivybridge from BIOS version 0902 - http://event.asus.com/2011/mb/PCIe3_Ready/

highlighted purple - I thought 3.0 could only be utilized by ivybridge? and hence cant be tested againt 2.0 just yet? (or am i completely wrong lol)

I've also had an intermitent issue wherein ALL of my usbs would completely die, Apparently it's related to having a usb hub connected to usb3 ports (I have logitech g19 keyboard with built in hub). But I seem to have fixed that by switching the usb3 controller over to the NEC one in bios.

.. Or so I thought. All connected usb devices disconnected earlier and it took 10 minutes of taking them out and plugging them in to get any response.

Awesome.
