I must be doing it wrong! (mpg related)

I can get 30mpg out of my car on the motorway by sitting at 80mph in 6th. Best I can get round town is 23~mpg.

Mine is lighter (I guess), 2WD, a manual and a newer 3.4l engine I think though.

Has yours got the dfi engine? Mine is the one that is likely to suffer with valvue liners, ims and rms... so far no dramas though.

Looks a decent car for the money. :) Who you coming up with?

210 bhp as well, happy days!

Westy his gf, JanseyB, Rob (InvaderGIR) are crashing at mine the night before.

Yeah I've spoken to the guy lots, seems like a sound buy so fingers crossed :)

I've no idea. As far as I'm aware my car can be effected by ims and the usual failures but it's more unlikely than the older engines.

I thought my 3.4l was released in 2005 (Cayman S) and then went into the Boxster S in early 2007. As far as I was aware it wasn't in any other cars but I'll admit I know very little about it.

Maybe you were subconciously trying for better MPG? :p

Driving everywhere in banzai mode I can get less than 130 miles from a tank, trying I can get over 300.

30MPG is possible, can get that out of mine when cruising at 75-80. Think you want to brim and measure, as I expect your trip computer is a bit out, but somewhere around 30 should be what you get on a steady cruise.

Don't see why it's not possible. I can get mid 30's out of the M3 if using 4th to 6th on a long trip and not hooning it at all.

Yikes im lucky if I get 250 from brim to fuel light on for a while on the Type R think that averages about 25ish :(

i never saw north of 23 in mine, ever, but i never bothered being friendly to it either :p

Is that why she is a mere shell of her former self? On another note what a week failures all over my newly inherited infrastructure.

I think I need to give mine a bloody good raggin and see what it says.

If I can - at a push - manage mid teens MPG with a six axle articulated truck, then I'm damn sure - at a push - low 30's should be doable with a 911. :)

It must seem so wrong though! :D
