I don't play many games anymore, with work an all.

Play wow, css, occasionaly rpg (skyrim, witcher 2)

Need a new card but unsure on wiether im going to need 2gb of vram or not.

I run a 1920x1080 and a second monitor on 1280x1024.

Will 1Gig be enough...

Not that limited by budget.

around 180 at a push.

200 absolute maximum (gonna need a very good valid reason for spending this much)

Cheers guys..

Michael

Depends how long you want to play Skyrim. It does look nicer with a higher spec card obviously.

You could play all of those games with a 1gb graphics card. Also depends on the spec of the rest of the PC.

Either of those two cards are what you want at this price point.

Is that card really neccessary for my needs??
Bethseda's new High res pack is pulling ~1.3Gbs on the vram with a 6950 in Skyrim.

With further high res mods in the future it could eat even more.

Both cards perform very similar indeed.

The only down sides for the 560ti imho opinion is the voltage problem(simple fix by manually raising the voltage) and the TDR issue that's affecting a lot of 560's

I'd suggest a 6950 personally, in virtually every benchmark I've looked at it's faster (Anandtech, Overclock3d and Guru3d ). Not faster by much, usually around 5%, but still faster. Plus, Does this model unlock shaders by chance?
