Sound And Video Problem

Ok so this will be kinda hard to explain but here goes nothing

So i want to connect both my xbox and PC to some sound system and then be able to switch between them. Now i was hoping of getting something decent like 5.1 or something like that.

Now the Logitech z906 seemed pretty decent and seems to allow me to do so but from reviews it seems that they are ****ty especially when it comes to mid frequencies. That is why it is my last resort if I dont find what i need

Now both my pc and xbox have Optical Audio and hdmi (somewhat). From my Xbox i can also get 2 RCA channels (left and right). MY pc supports up to 7.1 analogue (using 3.5mm jacks) aswell.
Now back to HDMI. My Xbox does have HDMI and so does my GPU (i currently own a GTX590). But i was hoping that later this summer i would get 2 more Monitors and setup 3d surround. I was hoping of connecting my 3 monitors using DVI and then get the sound from the HDMI, but i am not sure if this will work. (anyone knows?)
Now before you start asking why would i 'stress' on using hdmi, i also had this system in mind:

http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/products/42/100/42/BCS-212/index.html

Now this is awesome and i am on the verge of buying it if not for the problem that might arise later on when i try to connect my 3 monitors.
First of all would connecting 3 monitors to dvi and then the amp with the hdmi cause any problems?
If it does can i use some sort of hdmi splitter amp so that i can connect one hdmi output to the pioneer amp and the other one to my monitor
(Btw this is my monitor: http://benq.co.uk/products/LCD/index.cfm/product/1157)

I also found out that the pioneer amp does output video signal with the hdmi, so i could connect one monitor to the pioneer amp and then connect the output to my main monitor. Just dont know if i would have any latency.

Ok just as a recap :

I Have this GPU:

I really want this:

I was hoping of getting a total of 3 of these and connecting them to my pc:
http://benq.co.uk/products/LCD/index.cfm/product/1157

Bottom line:
I want to be able to use a surround system by connecting 3 monitors to the DVI of the Graphics Card, and output the sound signal via the HDMI of the Graphics Card by connecting it to the amplifier. Is this possible? If not, can i somehow connect one monitor to the HDMI (either by using a separate amp splitter, or by connecting it to the HDMI Out of the pioneer amp), and the 2 other monitors using the dvi ports?

What can i do?
If you have any other ideas for other sound systems i am open but pls keep in mind i was hoping of not spending more than 400 euros and i need to connect my xbox to it aswell and switch between pc and xbox

thank you

The Achilles heel with most all in ones is a lack of inputs. Luckily the Pioneer is a step up from the usual junk in this respect, however it still only has a couple of HDMIs, one Optical and a pair of phonos. That will be enough to do what you want with the PC and XBox, but have a think about the future and whether you might run out of suitable inputs in the future. For example, you add a Freeview PVR or a Sky box.

Anyway, based on what you want to do right now then here's how I would wire. This will avoid any latency problems with passing through the amp.

The lowest price on the Pioneer in the UK is around £230 sterling. A proper AV amp & 5.1 speaker package starts at £300 sterling from the heavy hitting discounters. That isn't much more in cost but it gives you far more inputs, lots more flexibility and better sound. It's worth every penny of the extra outlay.

First of all thx for your reply :D
I was hoping of doing something like this:

the problem with your answer is that my monitor only supports VGA and DVI and my GPU only has 1 hdmi and 3 DVI.

Preferably i would use the setup in my picture (hope it explains more what i had in mind). using that i could switch between watching a dvd, playing the pc and also playing on the xbox. Once again i am afraid of some latency issues that might arise...

Using an hdmi splitter would help against latencies but then i might have the problem of how to connect my xbox, bluray and pc to 1 monitor preferably... (that is the middle one)

Well I could have suggested your way, but you specifically asked about avoiding any latency, so my solution guarantees that. However, you're limited by the displays so go down the route you think will work for you.

Just some random thoughts, but video delay comes from an amp processing the picture for scaling - which the Pioneer does. Any AV amp that doesn't scale - or that just passes the HDMI signal through - is less likely to cause you a problem. The entry-level Onkyo kit (HTS3405) just passes the HDMI signal. £70 quid more like I said before. More flexibility, less potential problems, better sound quality, simpler wiring....... Definitely should be on your shortlist I think.

k thx ill give it a look then
thx

Edit: The problem is i live in malta and it might be kinda hard to find acquire such systems... but still thx man

Edit2: I looked abit at it specs and from what i can understand (but i really suck at this) seems like the pioneer is actually better when it comes to power and it has an inbuilt bluray, price by price comparison seems like pioneer is better right?
The only problem is the ports but i think i might have a solution :D
Well i could just try and see how it takes me :P
once again thx man

hmm seems ok but i think im still going with the pioneer, I mean you gave me an idea.. use the optical from my pc...
thx still man

got the pioneer lol
uptill now everything seems to be plain sailing... dont seem to have any latency so gr8 :D
i also managed to connect everything as needed :D
thx anyways man
