Whitney Houston dead

Probably suffocated after passing out in a Scarface sized pile of Bolivian Marching powder.

A great talent, sadly squandered in her later years.

Which part do you disagree with??
It's not a great shame she's dead? Or she didn't release belters in the 80s and 90s?

I look forward to your response..

Well... Both?

I'd love to say I thought it was a shame she was dead, but the sad truth is that she's been on a drug-fuelled downward spiral for quite some time (years). Her own doing.

This one brings back many summer morning memories. Sometimes reminds me of Vanessa Williams.

I don't get you at all. If it's both - why did you even care to post??

Well it was largely the former.

I don't care about 'belters' so much, but I DO care about the pop-scene in general though, and I am completely against the whole diva thing, which Whitney and various others (such as Mariah) were figureheads for.

I say what I think.

If you have a more plausible explanation I'd like to hear it.

I appreciate what you said in the latter part of your post to some degree. But I quickly tire of people who don't really understand drug addiction.

Potentially inappropriate, but LOL - I can only hope you're as drunk as I am with that post. Seriously..

"A diva (English pronunciation: /ˈdiːvə/, Italian: [ˈdiːva]) is a celebrated female singer. The term is used to describe a woman of outstanding talent in the world of opera, and, by extension, in theatre, cinema and popular music."

If this really is the case, then Whitney and Mariah clearly qualify for that title without question.

Oh come on... You know what I'm talking about. Pop-diva's are a world-wide phenomenon, which even the newest 'scener' knows about. We're talking about women who think they should be treated like goddesses, rather than pop singers. To a point where they go a bit peculiar in the head and make very unrealistic requests of their staff (and even fans).

Let's not take things too literally, eh?

Agreed - it's late and I've had far too much to drink, I'm becoming something I despise with my argumentative posts! (No sarcasm here!!!!).

I do understand what you're saying - the whole unnecessary entourage thing annoyed me to (and still does with the likes of Jennifer Lopez etc..).

Whitney has substantially contributed to the music industry - just about anyone will recognise her name. I don't think her lifestyle in the latter years should detract from that, but of course, it will.
