Hi.

Was wondering if anyone can offer some advice, we're selling a brand new and sealed blackberry playbook on eBay, not really used eBay much so only have 4 feed backs. Someone has messaged saying that there intrested but have been scammed in the past and so can we provide the serial number to prove that we actually own it?

What do you think of this request?

We both think it's a bit weird and so don't know how to reply or if to proivde the serial number? Could they do something with the serial number if we gave it to them?

:S

Put up a photo in listing with your username and current date written on a piece of paper with playbook.

Should be evidence enough.

Ask how will the serial number prove that you own it? You can't check it online or something can you?

Ask how can you scam them with a serial number?

Pretty much this and explain to him your new, had the same thing when I was selling a jacket.

Really don't know why the serial number would be any good to them, I mean what's stopping you giving them a made up one? Also might be being a bimbo here but wouldn't the serial number be on the playbook and so she wants us to open it all up?

Which as we're selling we don't want to do. Don't have a clue at all what to do about it.

It's 100% real not stolen or anything the mister won it at some geek thing on Friday but his not intrested in it and wants an iPad.

Just do what anyon said and what I stated, if he decided not to buy it then its not a big loss I'm sure you will find a buyer easily also explain to him why your selling.

They might report it stolen to the police and then anonymously tip them off that it was you. I wouldn't put anything past some of the schemers on Ebay. :p

On a more sensible note it might just to be confirm that it is a legitimate Blackberry serial with one they already own, obviously if you don't have one you wouldn't be able to respond with it. I probably wouldn't give it them though.

Ok, took the pic with a written note, but can't add the pic as someone has placed a bid (a1p bid 8-) there is a reserve price so it won't sell for that much, don't know why he put the starting bid at a penny knew I should have listed it myself lol).

I give up, which means I lose my £50 for helping him flog it :(

Upload the image to a free image host then link it in the auction ad.
If you know some HTML you could paste it in the ad so it's viewable and clickable too.

Will tell the BF to do that :p HTML is Down to him in this relationship I just get glazed look in my eyes lol.

You might have just helped me to get me some of my helping fee back which means new shoes! :D

Thanks for the help folks! :D
