Need replacing on our 09 320CDI - front and rear - Merc wanted about £500 for both axels fitted

Looking at getting a set online and fitted locally - any manufacturers to go for/avoid :)

Eicher seem very cheap and ATE higher up the scale - or are they both horrible?! :D

My sarcasm went undetected then. :D

My advice from past experience - a Mintex 'kit' if you can find them for your vehicle. They're excellent quality, and of course it saves the hassle of having to order both discs and pads.

There are too many people who would do that for sarcsm to work, I noted it but those who dont and follow the "advice" end up dead...

Brake pads I have used and would use again are Ferodo, Lucas and Blueprint.

Currently running Blueprint and found they have a really nice initial bite and they haven't let me down yet.

Reminds me of the guy who used cooking oil for brake fluid :o

One thing to be careful with pads is that if you do insist on 'the best' you can end up with something that needs warming up before it really works well.
I mean it'd probably be fine unless you lived on a mountain road :p but different types do vary even within one brand.
