Upgrade to what?? :D

Will be going 2011 socket at some point with a Rampage 4 but just don't see the urgency at the moment. My system laughs at anything you throw at it :)

Gonna keep one of mine for a while yet, probably go for a gpu upgrade before any major system change.

I'm on 980X @ 4.2-4.4 ) 1.3/1.37 V.

Andyocuk, are you sure your safe on 1.54 Volts???

Gotta love the title thread though "who's still on"........:)

920 @ 3.6ghz since November 2009.

I get the upgrade itch every time a tick/tock arrives, but the effort/cost of changing platform for small IPC/cache improvements changes my mind every time.

Managing USB3/SATA6G on PCIe cards isn't pretty but it does the job...

perfectly sure.....what on earth is the point of having an extreme edition chip unless you are going to "MAKE IT HAVE IT!!!!"??

:D

Very much still lovin' my i7 920 D0, @ 4.2 ghz and it will be three years this autumn.

Am starting to feel what will age the platform/chipset will be when new (larger capacity) ssd's come out (or down in price) the lack of sata3 will start to niggle the upgrade itch a little more...

Fortunately the price of changing up all the water blocks acts a nice counter-weight. Maybe I can a valid use for this box as a media, streaming box :D

My sentiment exactly.............far too many wimps around here scared of their own shadows, let alone pushing chips to the max :D

Can't see the point of upgrading at the moment.

i7 920 @ 4ghz is fast enough for me.

Sata 3, not bothered about as i only have OS, Office and a couple of games installed (Sata 2 runs these fast enough).

May at some point upgrade the GPU, but only because i wouldn't mind trying a Nvidia card.

I keep wanting to upgrade, then think whats the point! My I7 920 D0 is doing just fine.

Its been at 4.2ghz now for about a year and a half :)

Yep....with you all the way, my fellow brother in the ways of silicon abuse :D

Seeing loads of people over the last couple of years or so with 965EE, 980X and 990X running at 4GHz......

WHAT IS THE BLOODY POINT!!!!???!!! Pretty much any 920 DO chip will do 4GHz all day long at not much over stock volts on a sub £30 air cooler! :D

If you have an EE chip.......it shouldn't have been sold to you unless you solemnly swore on purchase to completely abuse it for every waking second of it's miserably short life! :D This is what they a for. IMHO, not adhering to this is tantamount to buying a Bugatti Veyron and only driving it to Tesco's once a week at 20MPH :D

i7 920 here. bought as part of a bumdle with the ud5 mobo, more than capable now, wont be uprading for a few years thats for sure.

There was a mirror thread not that long ago, which had quite a few posts of from owners of these chips.

Yep I also still have mine, only reasons I'm saving for an upgrade this time next year is because the motherboard has a fault where it forgets everything after a power cut and sometimes fails to post properly when overclocked. Also, if I spend £200 odd quid on a new motherboard, I may as well buy a new cpu as well. :(

CPU would otherwise last me for years more yet. It can run at 4Ghz quite well, but currently running at 2.66Ghz stock because, basicly I don't need any extra speed.
