Fancy a Tattoo. Thoughts?

lol, that is an awful meaningless tattoo. It just looks like one of the off the wall ones.

Go and do some living, think of something which actually means something to you. Then get some opinions from people with decent tattoo's about where to get it done, go and look at their work and see if you like it. If you do then get them to draw up what you want and go from there.

Why do people always think that a tattoo has to mean something?

Only one of mine means something special. Doesn't mean I don't want to keep the others :)

Hang on wtf.... whos gonna be looking at an 80yr olds back anyway?!

And at 80 are you really going to give a ****?!

I can't find it but recently saw it on a meme, lolbase type website. It was a picture of three 80y/o guys covered in full body tattoos with the a quote saying along the lines of:
I get asked what I would think of my tattoos at 80. I tell them I don't care. They ask me what I would do. I tell them I would hangout with other 80y/o tattoo'd guys shirtless looking bad*** while the world is filled with old generic people that all look the same.

As everyone has pointed out get something that means a lot to you and don't just get one for the sake of it. Also keep in mind when you get a tattoo that they can be addictive as well. I have 11 tattoo's and when I get an idea for a new one I think about it for about four months before hand and then decide if that's really what I want done.

Except just about everyone has a tattoo these days. It's almost uncommon NOT to have one :) You sheep you

I am considering a tattoo on my sons name, the wife is paying for it for my 30th Birthday.

As others have said, if you dont know what you want and are not ABSOLUTELY sure, then its not a good idea imho.

Sonny Bill Williams' sleeve looks awesome.

Yup.

Probably several grand's worth of awesome.

An other random thought of mine.
I've been wanting a tattoo for I don't know how long, going back years maybe to when I was 16, I'm 23 now.
I still don't know what I want. I know I want something that represents my love of Scotland, how for me it's home, I also want something that incorperates my battle with depression. But as for an actual design I have no idea and I'm in no rush to get inked. If the idea comes to me then I'll start working on it and it take it further. Till then it's still and will always just be something I want.

At least the OP sounds sensible by having one thats hidden.

The amount of morons I see out now with tattoos all over their arms and necks, as well as holes in their ears is amazing.

No wonder we employ people who look normal from Eastern European countries.

Respect to the OP for at least keeping under wraps.

The ONLY tattoo I would get is Paw Prints somewhere, as it has a special meaning for me.

Shame I cant though, as thats really for women.

OMG why are people saying get a sleeve?! They are so lame.

I'm deducing that you're not actually penski.

how about you getting raped by a thistle? you'll literally be loving Scotland but it'll be very painful so it'll be sad too

I could think of nothing worse.

Speaking from personal experience and nearly getting a large tribal myself (shame on me) as my first tattoo I opted to wait 3 months and decided on some meaningful text instead.

If you want to brand yourself a hooligan with a tribal go ahead but at least have it designed or design it yourself. Look in to maori tattoo's perhaps. Just don't get that monstrosity in your OP. Don't settle on a design find one you want.

I know that's been a joke, but I always thought of having a thistle getting blown in the wind like a dandelion. There's some imagery in their to convey new beginners and new journeys, like a phoenix being reborn.
