Thanks for your help guys - I'll report back here once I've completed the Project :)

I know most people hate this sort of thing but if you have got a spare five minutes would you guys be able to take part in my Final Year Psychology Research Project? :)

It should only take about 5 minutes and any help would be much appreciated!

Survey can be found here: http://kwiksurveys.com?u=OffenderArtwork

I wont say much about it as its all explained in the link :)

Thanks in advance guys and if you have any questions just ask. Also any comments - both positive and negative are welcome :)

Did that for you - one of the questions was a bit odd though as it could have two meanings:

If part or all of the proceeds were used to help victims of crime then would you feel more inclined for the offender to be abllowed to sell their artwork?

The meaning of 'no' changes depending on whether you believe the prisoners should be free to sell their work and gain a profit, irrespective of the additional info in the question.

"No, they should never be allowed to profit"

or

"No, it has no bearing as I think they should profit anyway"

I did discuss this with my supervisor but we decided to leave it as it was - I'm going to discuss it in the findings, so again I'll report back here at the end of the study :)

Done, thought it a bit odd there are 3 questions about whether different prisoners should profit, but I guess it depends on how you look at it.

Thanks.

I cant really say anything here in case people read it before taking part but those questions all serve a purpose in terms of the area being looked at :)

A couple of things:
Why are you not consistent with what sides yes and no are on from question to question? It's easy to put down an answer that is not intended.

Why on the scales are there not numbers to help someone identify where on the scale their view lies instead of just x?

Thanks for taking part :)

The scales are not consistent for the simple reason that it gets people to read the questions and provide an accurate response. If they are consistent then people often just select a middle ground throughout the survey.

The X is used for similar reasons so that people don't pick the same number throughout.

It was only a little clarification of one point - don't get your hopes up! I do think it's all a good idea, and there should be more of that sort of thing.
