Is playstation plus worth it at this point?

im tempted to subscribe to the service but wondered if its really worth it?
with regard to the free games PSN gives you each week/month, do you get to keep these as long as your subscription is active or is it only whilst those games are on offer?

ive tried reading around but ive read conflicting arguments for either.
 
my sub runs out this month, wont bother renewing it. I did find it pretty decent when i initially subscribed as you do get quite a few discounts.

i never bothered playing any of the Mini's or PS1 games they gave away free.

you keep the free games for the length of your subscription.
 
Had it since the start and I love it - really opened the PSN Store for me as additional discounted stuff became far too tempting, so Ive picked up gems I wouldnt necessarily have found.

Not really fussed by the free stuff, but the decent additional discounts, beta access, auto-patched games and more importantly automated cloud saves make the sub worthwhile for me

I've had it since the start, played tonnes of games I would never have looked at.

For about £3.50 a month, with the cloud service and auto back ups, it's not a bad price.

I would pick up when they are doing an offer though, about once every three months they have a free 3 months, or free game to go with a 12 month sub.
 
Anything games that are free are yours as long as you have a subscription.

Anything you pay money for directly, even if it's in a massive sale, is yours forever.

I'm happy with my plus subscription. I've gotten plenty of free and cheap games as a result.
 
I've been a subscriber since day one, but I won't be renewing when my sub runs out. The only thing worth mentioning has been the discount to the HD version of Resident Evil 4, everything else has been passable in my opinion.
 
I dont find it too great (the deals and such)but I have to say the cloud backup is worth the money alone.

I would still like to see better discounts on things we are all more likely to want to buy, it seems that most the discounts go against the tat.
 
Its less then a full price game a year so I stick with it. I just play whatever they give each month instead of getting hung up in decitions of if I should buy a particular game or not ;) Hasnt been bad with full Back to the future series, recent simpsons arcade and soon Farcry 2. It has it bad months but sometimes they can suprise you by putting up something half decent.
 
So if you don't renew the sub you lose the freebies? The other thing I'm interested in is, will game saves I already have be backed up on the cloud?

You need to choose whether a game uses the facility or not, but you can manually back them up on cloud if you wish.
 
Am I right in thinking with cloud I can back up my saves on ps3 upstairs, run downstairs log onto me account an carry on gaming where I left off?
 
Cant see why you couldnt, though remember protected saves can only be uploaded once a day IIRC. Very few games have protected saves though...
