Hey,

I want to be able to live stream 720p PC gaming footage without the lose of frame rate.

Anyone know a capture card that is capable of this? Preferably a PCIex1 slot card so I can have it inside my system.

I've looked in to it a bit and see people recommending the 'HD PVR' but my understanding that it is for recording xbox and tv footage. (I could be wrong)

Thanks for your time,

Hatton

Sorry I cant help but I'm just wondering why you'd want to do something like this?

Your asking him why he wants to livestream? well lots of ppl do it, I occasionally do it for the fun of it also if you become a partner with certain livestream sites they pay your for each add you broadcast.

Where you want to live stream it to? some sites have software for you to use.. pvrs etc are for the xbox n ps3... as for the HD and framerate that depends on if your internet can keep up with it.

I couldn't recommend anything as I have never needed to do something like this. But for PC you wouldn't need any hardware. I'm sure there would be a software solution that would do this. Assuming you are wanting to stream gaming footage online, have a look at UStream and how tht is done. Then just have a google for something. You can capture video to save but not stream using Fraps. If you don't need to stream then i would say Fraps is best.

Edit: wow quick succession with responses there :p

Without loss of frames you would probably need another PC.

Black Magic Intensity Pro is an internal PCI card which can take component and HDMI.

If you wanted it in your gaming machine you would need to loop the HDMI out from your graphics card into the PCI card, then from the output on the card to your monitor.

I've used the blackmagic intensity pro in the past to achieve this, suffered from no lag at all and can stream at 1080p (even though it isn't listed as supported). In order to do this, I was connecting the graphics card to the Intensity pro and then duplicating the display on to the blackmagic intensity pro. If you're interested I'll try to dig out settings I use etc.

Yeah the Black Magic Intensity Pro seems to be what most people are telling me to get. I'll have to look in to it a bit more.

Nice! This is exactly what I want! Do you have a link to your live stream channel so I can analyse the quality?

What do you mean by 'duplicating the display on to the black magic intensity pro'?

Not sure what the rules are on linking to a stream, I've sent you a link via PM.
There is only the one video on there from the capture card, I'm in the process of swapping all the components out to a new build before I'll start to stream again.

When I say duplicate the display, I mean if you go into the 'Screen Resolution' option from the desktop, and look under multiple displays, you will have the option to extend the desktop, or duplicate it. By duplicating the screen you are playing on, on to the BlackMagic card, it can then capture/stream the image.

It took a fair bit of playing around to get it to work, it was quite frustrating!

Was about to post asking something similiar although I have a slightly different need.

I assume the Intensity PRO encodes "on the fly" without hammering the CPU right?

It actually doesn't encode, it just passes through raw content.

You need to use it in conjunction with an encoder program like Adobe Live Media Encoder, or if you want to edit the content something like Xsplit.

Do you know a capture card that is capable of encoding on the fly?

I saw a video today about one of the AVERMEDIA capture cards, the guy talks about a new one coming out that is supposedly capable of doing so.

But I guess my question is: Are there any cards out there that can currently encode on the fly without affecting your game play?

Thanks
