My cat's been beat up (again)

From the OP's own posts, it appears as if the OP has done nothing to stop the other cat coming in, and has even allowed his own cat to stay outside rather than ensuring his own cat's safety, for some time.

I did post up a link to the Animal Act that explains responsible cat ownership as well as offering advice as to what sections to look at which might prove helpful in this situation.

Nor have I disagreed with your suggestions, Shades, so unsure of the point you are trying to make?

OP mentions spraying the the cat with water. The only point I'm trying to make is to suggest I cant see anything wrong with catching an animal that comes into your home and handing it over to the authorities and that I dont see how it would be classed as stealing.

We had this with Murray and next doors cat. They started out as friends but grew up to hate each other. Jinx would come in and spray all over the kitchen. Getting a control cat flap wasn't an option for us because ruby our other one wouldn't use it at all, I wasted £80 on some microchip reading one which was utter rubbish ( avoid them they are ****, they take so long to read your cat gives up).

I would suggest keeping him in over night, get him into a routine of coming in at a set time by moving a meal and locking the catflap. I had to build a small timber frame round ours and put a hinged door on it that padlocks because Murray could smash his way out.

I trapped Jinx in once and really soaked him, i felt really bad but he never came back in ever again. They still fought though and we were were at the vets constantly with related issues. Eventually Jinx was rehomed because the family were pregnant so he went to a really nice house over the other side of notts.

Spray your cat with cat repellent to repel the other cat.*

*This may, or may not, cause your cat to implode as every part of it tries to move away from the repellent...

Do yourself a favour and read the Animal Act I linked to above; if the cat does have an owner, taking it without permission could lead to imprisonment.

I'ld be tempted to catch said cat in your house and take it to a cat shelter if it is comming into your home. Presuming no-one knows who the owner is.

If it has owners they can go looking for it, if it doesn't it will get it's balls cut off and rehomed.

This is what you have said the OP to do.

But he has not taken it, the authorities have.

So not sure what your last remark is about.

When i saw the picture of your cat i stared for a few seconds, i know this sounds crazy but its beautiful somehow looks better then any person...

i think to stop the other cat you need to get the ocuk moustache guys on to it, or go out one time with you cat and watch and see what happens, i hate the other cat now, maybe its jealous of its good looks and dont you know the owners of the other cat

Yes, hand it over to the authorities? wether you take it to them, or have them come to you does it matter? If it does then just have the authorities come to you and pick up the cat, I guess that would be better.

Really don't see what the problem is as long as the authorities are involved?

I mean why would it be any different to a dog wandering into your house and you dont know who it belongs to? Phone authorities and let them deal with the stray?

My last remark was to do with the OP not stealing the cat, merely handing it over to the powers that be.

Because the law is different where a dog is concerned - sigh, read the act and rest your hands for a a few. :-)
