So i been away from the PC for about a week and i come home to find my Hotmail/windows account has been blocked and the "only way" to unclock it is to give windows my mobile number so tey can send me a "special " code to unblock it....quote "charges may apply".

Are they taking the ****??

If this wasnt from windows i would be thinking this a scam, but shocked that is actually is windows telling me this.

I cant even post/contact them as you need to sign in to do so, pretty anoying .

Any ideas how to get around this bullshi????

Sinse there is no way in hell i am going to give windows my mobile number, no way given that they blocking my account without reson, ie i havnt been on it for a week is the best i can think of atm.

Help much welcome.,

Give them a friends mobile that's willing to let you borrow it? I've had to do the same, never noticed any charges and don't get any spam texts/calls.

They normally block accounts if things such as spam emails have been sent from the account. First thing to do would be to give the PC a scan with something like Malware Bytes and see what turns up.
