If I had a need for a diesel saloon for running up and down the motorway I'd be after one of these I think.

Been browsing them on AT; seem quite good value if you do a lot of motorway miles. I assume theyre quite reasonable to run too.

They are now relatively cheap to buy, but they are very heavy even for the class and are therefore really slow. 2.0 HDi takes 11.6 seconds to get to 60 - a Mondeo with the same engine is a second quicker.
 
I own a citroen C4 (I know dont laugh).. my suggestion would be to drop a 40ft container from a great height on to its roof... It will be the most slammed it can be and the best outcome for both yourself and everyone else around you.
