Alan Wake now appears to be heading to Steam!!

I have this on Xbox and really enjoyed it. I keep meaning to pay through it again and get some more of the achievements. I am tempted to get the PC version just to have a look at it:o
 
bought on steam, its funny but i remember this game being touted a long time ago when DX10 was being heralded as the best thing since sliced bread.

It completely slipped my memory since then and having not owned a console i am now downloading it for pc and i have to admit am really looking forward to it :)

Have done well to keep myself out of the loop so will see the game fresh with no idea of any plot etc
 
#2 on Steam best sellers list now will be #1 when the Killing Floor Bundle sale ends later.

But Steam is also slowing right down now & the DL has restarted a few times it struggling to cope with the demand :eek:
 
well my m8 with a fast connection burned his steam files for me. So I copied over his files, Steam went to 3gb straight away and started downloading the rest, meh. I thought it would verify the lot without download lol

You will both enjoy a lot I think its one of those classic survival horror games. Starts very slowly but once your hooked hard to grab a break from it. Play the 6 main episodes then the 2 extra episodes last as they contain spoilers from the main episodes. I think the are only 8 episodes in all but its still around 20-25 hours including collectible gathering (there are a LOT of collectibles & many are hard to find).
 
Yeah just got my friends files to work. I have to say it is way up the top with the best looking games, not a direct port a lot of work has gone into this. Worth every penny imo, no idea on bugs etc not that far into it. Maxed out on my setup, not sure on frames, I have v-sync off but forced v-sync and triple buffer in D3DOverrider and it is very smooth. Looks amazing imo

Sounds good, looking forward to it, 5.3gb of 7.8gb downloaded.

Just had to do that its gone back up now at 57% only an hours to go for me now. Must have been the surge in demand around 6.30 caused it before then it was flying along then it really bogged down. But now the bandwidth is getting hammered even more it goes between 200kb to 1Mbps quite a bit right now guess many PC gamers are happy to buy this after all :D
