Hi All Can anyone tell me apart from Powerdvd 11 ultra what other blu ray/ dvd software will play blu ray films ? thanks:confused: i,ve tried VLC ,Windows media ,Media classic player, and none work

Watch out for the added programs with that DaPlayer.. It's got an IE toolbar with search addon that replaces your current search provider, unless you click advanced and tell it not to (which then stops the program installing from what I can tell).

It's also got an program that spams you with offers... classy.

Blu Ray wise, I use Arcsoft's TotalMedia Theater 5.

Although it will never happen, I'd pay for MPC-HC to fully support blu ray, with menus.

I use anydvdhd, with CorelWinDVD

I don't rate WinDVD, PowerDVD or TMT. They're all way too clunky, WinDVD is the lesser of the evils. Plays any disc I try. -anydvdhd is helping it though

Some discs just don't play properly in MPC-HC / VLC because of the way they are mastered

My mistake, I was using the 2.0 RC, and Tron:Legacy BR didn't work, and neither did Suckerpunch.. Although both work fine in Totalmedia Theater

Oh, that blows :( Hope they have better stuff for the real release then.

Totalmedia Theater is my favorite still too, especially with the borderless window it looks sleek. Costs a bit tho.

Hi There what do you mean by borderless windows ?

The little window border that goes around all programs under Windows OS, that usually is a static color.
They don't include that in the video playback in windowed mode, so it's just pure video without having a white/whatever colored border around the video itself. :)

does Corelwindvd not support DTS-HD? ... i know there site says it does but i have tried a few movies with windvd and none of them show as playing the DTS audio track.

If VLC 2.0 Does do Blu-Ray I'm going to be in heaven! I can finally uninstall powerDVD...

The alternative btw is MakeMKV + VLC. Put Blu-ray in, rip off blu-ray, play film as an MKV. Only problem is a standard Blu-ray is about 25GB...
