How well do you think a simple (cpu only) water cooling loop could be fitted into a bitfenix colossus?
Was looking as getting bay reservoir and mounting a rad onto the top of the case (any rad suggestions would be appreciated).
Also as a WC virgin how exactly do you affix the pump to case?
It will be to cool either a i5 2500k or if I can manage to wait one of the new Ivy Bridge series.

Thanks in advance :)

Looks like a simple loop would fit in fine, certainly there is clearance for radiators in the top, at least a 240. Searching "bitfenix colossus water cooling" certainly comes up with some hits, if you wanted ideas.

My pump hangs (mid air) from my reservoir, but if that is not your thing, then perhaps a siting it loose on foam, or a shoggy sandwich could work for you.

Actually fixing it to the case will transfer vibrations (you can get pump stands), which might not be to your liking.

Your other option is to get a reservoir that includes a pump, these can fit in 5 1/4 drive bays. Again vibrations can be an issue here. Some people can find draining and filling the loop to be challenging using this sort of res.

This is, IMO, the best option. it depends on the pump though

They're noisy and pretty crap TBH.

OP, you need a spec?

I'm not sure whether to spec up now or to wait till ivy bridge comes out?
If I start really considering speccing up I prolly won't be able to wait till april!
Do you guys think that waiting for Ivy bridge will be worth it?

What sort of budget do you have?

4 months away, maybe get a cheap 2500k

I've got no real budget at the moment. Obviously I don't want to spend out just for the sake of it, but I'm willing to spend a decent amount to get a good set up.

LOL aweseom cheers man. So sandbridge-E the way to go and not Ivy bridge?

I'll be honest, it's pointless unless you can use it. It's better for rendering, folding etc, but for games the difference is pretty much 0. The E means it's the enthusiast chip which basically means it'll be good for some time to come. Main reason I bought SB-E is because I can then upgrade to IB-E easily. I personally saw this as an investment, everyone will see it differently.

isnt that your pc cleeecooooo ?

Pretty much :p
