How long is the game roughly?

I don't mind paying over £20 for a PC game as long as it is a decent length or has some replay value.

With the two dlc's you get. Some people are saying 15 odd hours some say 20 hours. I don't remember how long it took me for the main game on the 360 though. I am guessing those times are to get all achievements and pickups. I can't stand by them as I can't remember, just what others are saying.

AWPC said its 20-25 hours, plus there is collectables and a nightmare difficulty level you can unlock after completing it I presume and you can only get some of the collectables that way.

You will get at least 20 hours minimum out of perhaps 25-30 if you want to get all collectibles (some require a lot of exploring without a guide) & achievements on Steam (it has 67 achvs). Then right now Steam are giving the game soundtrack, developers commentary & 200 pages plus Alan Wake files book all free so that will add more time if you like the game obviously.

But it is only a survival horror game which is mainly action very few puzzles its all about atmosphere, story & action although there are several free roam driving sections as well later in the game when you get to some large areas to speed up gameplay (you can also use the vehicle headlights to kill the enemies when you run them over GTA style!)

Hmm, shall I get this now or wait until the Easter(?) sale? D'you reckon it'll just be basically the same price considering it's already a fiver off? I was really looking forward to this game and enjoyed watching some of the videos I've seen of it but I've already got so many games I already need to beat. Also, how does it control and KB/M or 360?

Edit: One final question, I promise :P; how well will it run at 1690x1050 with a 6950 1GB/i5 [email protected] setup?

Cheers :).

I'd say max.

I have played it before (not the dlc though) I was against the whole game as it is so late, I bitched/moaned and trolled about it.

Even I paid for it and I have no regrets in doing so. Looks amazing, good game to :)

LOL, that was the biggest U-turn I have ever seen on these forums :D

Because it is an old game maybe? Instead of just trying to make a quick buck on this old game they should have made something else to bring out. The game was ok at best, no replay value at all. So if you have played on xbox like 80% of the gaming world has then no point in playing on PC at all. I would pay £5 for it tops on steam just to see the graphics, any more and they are taking the mickey.

I know lol, I was not expecting them to put this much effort into the PC version. I 100% admit I was wrong about it :D

Another thing, PC gaming I tend to take more time to explore but on consoles I tend to rush. Weird

Unlikely to be cheaper @ easter its currently around £12 cheaper the RRP for the collectors version is supposed to be £34.99 Remedy are selling that version only for now @ the reduced price of £22.99 I believe. Next week when this deal ends the std version without the extra goodies goes back up to £26.99 on Steam & the collectors goes up to £34.99 for UK buyers as thats the official RRP. Remedy have just subsidised the game otherwise EU buyers would get to pay $10 more than US buyers due to VAT rules in EU.

Its unlikely Remedy will put this on sale for a few months after the initial sale as most buyers will have picked it up by 23rd Feb the bulk of the others sales will be when in 3 months or so they drop the prices in Steam sales like other games usually do but as this is currently outselling CODMW3 on Steam you can bet Remedy understand how popular it is!!

The retail versions out of March 2nd will be around £25-28 if you pre-order from somewhere in UK.
