Hello all,

I want to move from fan to water as I have the PC on my desktop about 2foot away from me and the sound while gaming is way to much infact I oftern get told off by the misses for it being to loud.

Anyway I'm new to water cooling and have no real idea on what I should be getting but I am in two minds as to if I want to keep my x2 GTX 470 in sli or move to a single card option. Also is my case good for Watercooling (in Spec below)

What i'm currently looking at buying is either OcUK Tech Lab - V12 or V8 for CPU cooling and then I have either a new GPU or stick with my current 470's. My budget is £500-£600

My system specs are below please help me get the right bits.

Silverstone Raven 3 RV03B-W
I5 2500K OC to 4.5
MSI P67A-GD65
Nvidia GTX 470 x2 in Sli
Kuhler 920
Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8GB
64gb SDD
x2 1TB HDD

Certainly doable, not the easiest case but certainly doable.

Have a look at some build logs, there is a good raven watercooled thread somewhere.

First thing to do is decide about gpu. Personally I'd go to a new card, but you're looking at a big spend to get similar/better performance. Either way, for quietness get the gpu's under water. 470 blocks are pretty hard to find now IIRC.

For silence suspend your pump off your res or soggy sandwich it to minimise vibrations.

Thank you for getting back to me, What card am I looking at to achieve same performance? I game at 1920x1080.

You're in the same situation I'm in, I am going to be watercooling my cpu first then once the new nvidia high end card comes out will be selling my gtx470s for a gtx680.

It will be around the same performacne but will produce a lot less heat which will reduce the need for an extra radiator.

Both of the kits you mention are very good for cooling the cpu and the v12 may allow you to add the gpu later.

If you ask Cleeecooo he would probably spec you a decent build too.

Thats great thank you, sounds like the v12 is the best option but I will ask Cleeecooo for this expert advice..

The V12 kit is pretty much the best of what OCUK sell, all you really need to do is go through the kit and swap anything you don't like the look of for something you do. E.g. Change the fans and quantity, add another rad, change the coolant etc

The V12 consists pretty mujch of the stuff i'd spec. It's a good kit, but i always spec thick rads when possible.

Seems it can fit a 240 at the bottom and a 120 at the top, but you lose a pcie slot

I've seen how tight it is at the bottom, so i'll put a thin rad in there for now and a thick rad at the top.

However, you could also suspend a 360 rad outside the case?

7970 block is a placeholder for 470 blocks, change the res if you want.
