Using Windows 7 32bit. IE9 doesn't work with a few websites I use at work so I uninstalled it, thinking it will revert back to 8. But now I have no IE at all and can't find a version of IE8 for Win7 anywhere!

Please help!

Have you tried using compatibility view in IE9?
It should make websites work which were designed for IE8 or earlier.

The way I did it at work as far as I remember was
Control Panel > Programs > Turn windows features on or off > then untick IE9, which I think reverts back to IE8... i think :p

Though download link is in the post above mine, probably easier :D

Thats what I did but it got rid of IE8 too. That link does have a download link for IE8, but when you run the setup it says its not compatible with this OS (Win7). There's isn't a version of IE8 for Windows 7. How stupid are MS to do something like this!?

Also compatibility view doesn't help either.

Try uninstalling it via the program and featurues button in control panel. Then, on the right click view install updates and scroll down until you find it and uninstall it. This should get rid of IE9 and revert back to IE8.

That method does not uninstall IE9 but removes IE full stop (although its more of hiding it.)

What you need to do is to undo what you did so IE is visible.

Then go Control panel - programs and features and click the link on the left view installed updates.
Search through the list for IE9 and uninstall as you would a normal program.
Reboot and IE8 should be back.

Ohh yes that's what I did, I tried the method I said and it just hid it.
