This is the one case where I'm with the Americans.

I prefer learned to learnt, spelled to spelt, etc.

Interestingly, I would say "he dreamed a dream" but also "he dreamt it up". Language, eh, got to love it.

This is the one case where I'm with the Americans.

I also prefer some American spellings because it makes so much more sense. Our "centre" looks so stupid for example. "Center" is how its said and it looks better as well IMO.

I dont see it as "us" and "them" (we vs. Americans) its just English and I happen to like how they spell some words.

I know purists will read this & run around their rooms in a frenzy frothing at the mouth and punching holes in the wall but hey...knock yourself out
