ok here goes i now have a ASUS rampage extreme II mobo and a i7 920 2.66 what would be a safe overclock

You have the C0 version, you should be able to reach 4ghz ~

Meant to Ask what cooler are you using.
 
yeah that looks good,temps are fine so is qpi/dram core voltage at 1.3v

go for higher now? 4.2ghz should be do-able? might need around 1.35v qpi and same for cpu? test and lower if you can

10 mem multi

i would do 10runs of intel burn test on very high,not max as it might be too hot for cpu,keep temps under 80c stop test if they go above,if it passes 10runs on high or very high then you can say its stable

did you do 10 runs of intel burn test on high or very high?aida wont be as stressfull as ibt

still could achieve 4.2ghz,temps are still within limits but you really need to test with ibt

are you clocking through voltage offset or fixed cpu voltage? offset is better

if you do get a blue screen try and catch the code

101 error will be not enough cpu voltage

124 error will be not enough qpi/dram voltage
