Over there...
Company car renewal time, so I'm plumping for a change from my previous Audi, and more recently Alfa and going for the new BMW 320d sport. Not going to set the world on fire, but will be nice to drive RWD for a bit.

The question I have is related to speccing it out. Its my understanding the F30s come with an Aux in and a USB for audio?

I also have an option on the list which is iPhone preparation, £105.

What exactly does the iPhone prep do, can I use the standard USB for audio via my iphone without the preparation, or is that really for USB sticks with mp3s on?

Finally i am thinking of upgrading the audio setup - either to the Professional HiFi or the Logic 7 - has anyone heard either upgraded system, was it impressive?

TIA

I beleive you can access applications on iDrive if you have iPhone preperation.

Does it HAVE to be a 320d? The new 320i and 328i both have the excelent new Twinpower Turbo engine and combine low CO2 with no diesel dagagadaga and bags of smooth performance.

Erm, I'd have to check.

We get better rates for <130ish Kg/co2. Fuel economy is if no importance to me as I pay tax on private fuel. The other issue is whether it comes into budget.

I'll go check.

I can't see a 320i as an option and I think the 328 (as much as I'd like it) will be too co2 heavy which results in a slashing of the budget, pushing it out. It's a crappy way of trying to entice you to go low co2 (despite the soot they kick off)

I'm interested to see what the 328 comes in at on our company lease scheme.

The price difference between a diesel and petrol was pretty hefty though, combination of higher co2, petrol (so higher cc tax) and a higher list price meant a noticeable increase.

But that's largely down to my current options being a company lease scheme, bit different if all you're paying is the CC tax.

If that's the case then go nuts with the 328, to have the budget for that as part of your package you're probably not going to be stretched :)

The 328i does seem like a peach of an engine! Something loike 270~ bhp with a combined figure of 44 mpg isnt it?
