Hi somehow someone has managed to hack my gmail account this morning, luckily i think nothing bad has happened, all they done was send multiply emails to OCUK and similar companys from my gmail account with a link with some sort of plugin.

I know its a plugin as it actually says plugin at the end,of course i have not clicked the link and have forwarded it to gmail.

All the emails sent failed,i guess the person who hacked my account wanted me to click the link?, im not sure.

Ive just deleted over 1000 emails from email account as well

What im baffled about is i done a virus scan with malware bytes and spybot
yesterday so im at a loss on how my google password was obtained?

I use

Panda free AV (Was Avira 2 days ago)

Malwarebytes

Spybot.

Are there any other programs i should be using?

Do you use the same password on other sites?

Only a few places, silly i know. Ive now changed all my passwords using a generator some are 15 characters now, every pass is now different.

Ive checked all my accounts and nothing has been ordered/etc.

Ive had no order emails and no email telling me my password has been changed.

But the info that might have been stolen from over 1000 emails is a tad worrying.

All the person done from what i can tell is send multiple emails to ocuk and similar with a link that clearly says at the end, plugin lol,not sure what they were trying to do,as obviously i would never click it.

All the mails sent were not properly received from any of the company's,as Phishing was obviously detected.

One bonus is Gmail automatically detected my account was compromised,so im assuming the account would have been locked as soon as they realised.

It's either the sending end that stopped them or the IP address of the sender is in a list of known spammers and was blocked at their end.

The MO for these guys is for the person getting the message is the one who clicks the link thinking that you sent it to them.
