i am going to be formatting my machine next, origin game installations are all on a 2nd hdd but the origin frontend is on the main drive.

when i reinstall the system and origin package, will it pick my installed games up again or go utterly mental?

You can change your Cache directory in Origin to pick up the previously downloaded files. I'd open Origin to check where the setting is, but it's having trouble even logging me in. Not that that surprises me.

iirc you just need your "Origin Games" folder. Copy it somewhere safe, install Windows, install Origin, log in, log out/close Origin, copy your Origin Games folder over the empty one, log into Origin and hit install on the game. From memory it will look like it's downloading the game again but at a silly speed like 2GB/s

when I fromat and reinstall windows I use a portable HDD to transfer origins and steam on to, is that not an option?

i have a completely seperate HDD with all my game installs on it including Steam and All my origin games, so all origin does is point to that drive

guessing if the above is correct, then i can just reinstall the Origin client, reset the installer path and it should pick up the games again yeah?
