Alan Wake now appears to be heading to Steam!!

If you want to unlock nightmare mode, add -developermenu to the target path of the shortcut. Saves having to do a whole playthrough.:)

Nightmare mode is the only real way to play this game. It's not frustratingly difficult, but it add so much more tension to the game, and makes you make every bullet count :D

I'm finding it pretty challenging on medium . Then again I don't play this sort of game very often so probably not as good using a pad as people who do.

Well only the Collector's Edition is available atm from steam and some people will not want all the other stuff like me.

Then delete it, the CE is only on offer for a bit, normally it is £26.99 but atm it is £22.99 which I think will be the price of the standard version give or take a pound. Not really seeing your issue as it is on offer

If GMG was not having issues i could have got the normal for £16.50
And if i have to verify cache it will DL the other stuff again.

No, as for widows and all games accept for alan wake all buttons work fine that I need, so dont see the point of installing the software. Im using the logitech performance.

So let me get this straight...........aw will not use the mouse buttons you want it too but if you install the mouse software it will fix it, but you will not installl the mouse software because you feel you shouldnt have too:confused:

Madness utter madness LOL

hehe,, nope, as its just another background app to add to the collection that I try to avoid if poss. But saying this, Ive just installed the setpoint, thought I'd give it a whirl.

But as a rule I never install mouse/keyboard software as the OS is pretty good detecting all buttons and stuff without it.

Setpoint is an exception and is highly useful. Uses little to no resources as well.

Going by your spec, you shouldn't be even giving a 2nd thought to 'resources' either. My spec is the same except I'm SSD and haven't been concerned with processes since Win7 came out.

loving the game on my first play through, only just into episode 2 taking the game in small doses trying to soak as much from the story as possible.

I agree with a previous poster who said the game reminds them of fahrenheit, the story has me hooked from the start being a big fan of horror books and movies means this is just the sorta thing ive been missing from my games collection.

Also reminds me loads of that tv series supernatural
