Which PC game has the best physics?

Red Alert 2 had the best physcics.

I quite like the physics in Portal 2 which I am playing at the moment, maybe not the best from a technical standpoint but they are a lot more relevant to the gameplay that most games.

lfs physics look over exagerated... definetly not realistic

Show me one game where physics are not over or under exaggerated ;) One would need to find real footage slow mo with similar angles to ones shown in lfs video, but imho LFS looks great- the tyre flex and bounce, the suspension loading, the change of grip levels as function of the two... And of course, what video does nto show, is that all this is linked to the force feedback of the steering wheel really well. Shift2 is much more simplified.

i never said shift 2 was good i was giving an example of a game that in slow motion looks good even if the physics are pretty basic

Max Payne 2, hands down, because it actually suits and benefits the action-packed gameplay unlike virtually every other game mentioned here.

Way over exaggerated, but for its time the ragdoll/physics engine and how it was put to use in the game was incredible. Completed some of MP2 scenes over and over, simple shooting people/stuff up was different each and every time:cool:

I dont know... To me Shift 2 slow mo lacks all this symphony of little details going on physics wise... Shift 2 does look great for for all the different reasons (graphics):)

I think I also saw an iRacing video similar to this LFS one, but I never saw anything like that made for NKPro (another modern racing game known for physics). These two should look even better, because LFS road is perfectly flat like sheet of glass but iracing and NkPro in particular, model the road surface in addition to tyres and suspension.

The most impressive physics I've seen is in Portal 2. There are a few awesome set pieces which are stunning (the intro sequence when the box you're in is breaking apart, for example).

Crysis probably has the best from a technical standpoint, or maybe BF3? Never played it but I hear building etc are destructible, which I assume is accompanied by a nice collapse of bricks etc?

I'd just like to point out that the majority of triple-A games use the same physics engine, an Irish physics engine.. boo ya.

That includes any game made using Source, UDK, Crysis, id Tech engines and many more.
