So buy them retail and activate them?

I'm not sure exactly what you expect? If you lived on the mainland you'd get the real prices rather than the weak euro ones. :p

That's EA for you, they think because they've developed their own platform (which is totally crap), they can charge an arm and a leg and justify it by saying "well console users pay this much..".

As above, buy them retail and activate them on Origin, I recently did with Kingdom of Amalur and installing from disc works really nicely. In fact the whole of Origin seems to be better than Steam in terms of software. Works better on slow internet anyway.

BF3 PC: 25.44
NFS The Run: 14.97
Mass Effect 3: 27.95

I now hate retail boxed games..

But if it's going to be £26 cheaper (e.g. NFS The Run) then why on earth not? If you really don't like the box then activate it in Origin and throw it away. It stays tied to your account so you can download it in the future if/when necessary.

If you're in Guernsey get it from Amazon or Play as they take the VAT off.

:D

This is why I hope the high street game shops survive. If they were to go, the online stores get to charge what they want. Competition keeps the likes of Origin and Steam in check.
