Do you cry at films?

Have to say I never did when I was younger - but after having kids I connect much more with some films. The Pursuit of Happyness being a easy to understand example.

I still don't cry, but that's only because it was beaten into me as a child that men don't cry :P

I shall be the only one to retain my alphaness.

For I only cried when Goose died.

WHO DIDN'T?!

Also;
I actually meant shed a tear/how emotional do people get, but I figured that 'do you cry at films' was much shorter and snappier....

I do try to resist, and tend to be pretty good, but yeah, some things just get me...

I cry at films all the time. Last one I can remember having a proper cry at was I Am Legend, I can't stand it when dogs die in films and actively avoid them.

Something else I watched that was really sad:

The episode of futurama with Fry's dog.

:eek:

where he's waiting for him? that's pretty sad alright and i know it's only a cartoon but it's the thought it creates, especially if one has owned dogs.
grave of the fireflies is another powerful cartoon.

i don't think i've ever cried at a film but i've certainly been close. not just films though, episodes of lost, especially john locke's story were emotional at times.

saving private ryan, where his hands are shaking and he's on the verge of a break down or losing it, just basically put his body through much is quite powerful too.

i remember watching the never ending story when i was a kid and the quicksand scene was a close one as was when E.T. got sick.

sgt elias in platoon is a powerful scene too and i find the village raid scene hard to watch too the ''i ain't seen brains like that'' victim

Oh just remembered, Lion King :'(

There was also this web comic I read for a while, it was gaming based but I can't remember the name, ctrl+alt+del maybe!?! and there was a bit in that

where his girlfriend miscarried and I balling like a princess, I had been reading about them getting together, and then the baby for months.

I had an R.E teacher that used to cry every time she watched Braveheart (I think). She even let us watch it at Christmas and cried.

I didn't shed a tear at all at the end of Shawshank when I saw it for the first time many many years ago, my mum just forgot to turn on the extractor fan so the onion tinge came in to the room!

I assume you're being ironic as Top Gun has massive homoerotic overtones between Cruise and Van Kilmer :o

So you're saying it's not possible to be alpha and a queer?

How very homophobic of you. ;
;)

:p

I dont cry easily watching movies, but it has been known to happen. Does getting "misty eyed" count as crying?

The "Baby Mine" scene from Dumbo always, and I mean ALWAYS, makes me cry.

Nope, I don't. It's fiction and for some reason I can't cry at fiction. To put it in perspective though, my hamster died last weekend and I cried basically all the night after.

Last film I cried at was Lion King, and I think I was about 9 years old at the time.

That was terrible and I laughed along with half of the internet.

The guy that makes the comic is such a bad writer. I enjoyed it in the beginning but the humour is dire these days and the plot... well... the less said the better.

Ctrl alt del is woeful!

I didn't think goose dying was sad either.

I read CAD, but I just take it for what it is... a guy doing a free comic on the internet.

I think those who were up in arms about the miscarriage were utterly hilarious, some of the bile aimed at it on my Facebook at the time was pretty shameful, simply because so many people just missed the point totally.
