I did a bit of motorway driving on Saturday in the evening and encountered an unbelievable amount of middle lane hogs on the M40. The most common was the type to stay in there with almost no visible traffic in front of them (not approaching any cars) and the next was the equally irritating 'stay neck and neck with a car in the slow lane'.
I confess, that it does wind me up something rotten. I usually make a point of making sure I pull into the inside lane after overtaking them and if I'm feeling particuarly naughty I hover behind them (not too close) for 10 seconds before flashing then overtaking them - this usually causes them to pull over, but it is a bit cheeky.
How do you deal with them? Ignore them and carry or do anything to make a point of it.
Just to cause commotion, 90% of the time they are either a woman or an elderly driver, from my experience.

Then some have the cheek to flash their lights at you just to let you know you shouldn't undertake
