Alan Wake now appears to be heading to Steam!!

In the Steam stats, can you find out how many people own a game?

Ie, how many people have Alan Wake already?

Hopefully Remedy will continue to support pc gamers if the sales are good from this

It wasnt Remedies choice to not support PC when it was released even though it was intended just for that. Microsoft chucked a load of money there way and they had to make it exclusive.

Hopefully Microsoft will see sense.

I was wondering and hoping the same thing.

No you cant, you can only see how many people are currently playing and the peak for the day.

But if they have enough money to at least make a game, they can publish and sell it themselves on the PC. If Alan Wake does well then it's a possibility.

Remedy have said they own the Alan Wake IP so they can publish American Nightmare on PC in a few months if they want to take the financial risk & MS do not object (unlikely to as they really could not care less about PC gaming right now which is why I think they allowed Alan Wake to come to PC with no involvement & MS could not even be bothered to publish @ retail). MS originally paid the entire 5 year development on Alan Wake which is how they could ask to make it exclusive to 360 at the time.

I think Alan Wakes American Nightmare will most likely come to PC late summer. Probably on Steam only when MS charge $40k to patch on XBLA for 360/PC no wonder devs are not interested in XBLA anymore & flocking to Steam/PSN instead ;)

Alan Wake is an excellent game but you cannot help but think it should & easily could have been out on PC in 2006/7 if Remedy had enough faith/money to not take MS funding for the 5 year dev cycle :(

Excellent game, performance was much better then I’d hoped for on my laptop. I felt the graphics were good, can certainly see the love and attention gone into making it, story is interesting and unique gameplay.

Played the first chapter and playing the game my sofa, laptop and headphones with a 360 gamepad, I was starting to get tense, the suspense of expecting something that’d startle me was always there, and the game pulls it of perfectly. It’s not over the top, fantastic delivery and I’m enjoying it.

I’ve not played Alan Wake on the 360, so therefore can’t comment if its actually a decent port but it seems decent enough. Looks really good in some areas, water effects are good…

I was about to say why the hell were you playing it on your laptop when you have the rig in your sig, and then i remembered :D

:p Yep..!! My desktop is now a very expensive dust collector at the moment.. I live in hope the old ball n chain will mellow and not be too bothered I'm not in the same room....

I did offer, but was sort of told naff off to move the PC into the living room.. oddly my idea to hook it up to the main TV didn't go down too well, and thus back to my laptop on the sofa... lol

Oh one other thing about Alan Wake... Once you get so far into the game it gives you a recap, which is great I felt... The love that went into this game, its a shame its so late to the PC but its here now...

"We are very happy with the sales and hitting #1 on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing. We recouped our development and marketing expenses during the first 48 hours. And yes, we're certainly very excited about PC."

Regardless of what Steam stats say it must have sold a lot if Remedy are saying this already! Which is excellent news as it hopefully means more from Remedy on PC in the near future :)

Hopefully that’s a big **** you to MS game studios, it’s always puzzled me as to why Microsoft treats PC gamers with such animosity as Microsoft made its vast fortunes from PC operators…

Their Windows Live is loathsome sadly can’t see it improving anytime soon. Its good to read a game that’s been ported correctly is selling well, deserves it IMO.

Anyone who hasn’t purchased this game yet, you owe it to yourselves to grab a copy, its not expensive yet it’s a rich and interesting game with great graphics.

Really really good game, loving it so far, this is a must for any horror fans or someone who wants a new type of experience rather than fps after fps game.:p

Scenery, story, gfx, sound and chars are all amazing.

Need more horror games on pc like this.

Game does have an eerie feel to it, it’s not as scary as Amnesia (this’ll be forever the game that scared the life out of me) but it does have some really tense moments…

Hoping to play some more tonight, got to the part where I’m at a radio station, won’t say anymore, don’t want to spoil it for someone…. However game is getting more and more interesting the more I progress….

It’s just a joy to have a game that was originally xbox 360 only that was actually prone to screen tearing from all accounts on the PC meaning I can enjoy it as the developers intended it to be enjoyed…

Really enjoying this game. It's like an awesome mix of Max Payne and Resident Evil 4. But with less ammo :D

Excellent pricing on it too. Around £25 is the max I'd pay for a game unless it's Half Life 3, without playing a demo first

I stopped playing Amnesia just after fixing and going down the lift it was so scary :(. I agree about Alan Wake though, tense in an understatement whe you've run out of every type of ammo and you're running for your life to the Gas station with an enemy just behind you .

It gets much worse than that :D
