Not sure where to put but this is the most 'Clear Sky' thread I could find.
Just completed it after taking my time playing it (over a year
) and am a bit miffed with the ending. For the first thing, the ending was rubbish! And secondly, I thought I had done a decent amount of exploring and was getting some cash together despite not reloading an earlier save when bandits nicked my entire inventory earlier on.
I was expecting to come across some better suits, and I did (except for the exoskeleton) but thought I had time to go back and get them once I was done following most of the story. Before I realised it, I was on the last level, which was over WAY too soon. Also, and this was the annoying part, I only had the sunrise suit at this point. And it was shafted - I looked again today and every stat was as zero except bulletproof at 11.
As you can imagine, the last level fighting respawning monolith enemies throwing grenades the whole time was not fun. At all. I love the STALKER games and have spent ages playing this one, I don't want to have to install the complete mod and reset everything I've done just to continue to play it. I was convinced there must be some alternate endings but I assume not?
It caught me by surprise when it ended. It's one of those games that you enjoy picking stuff up, upgrading, becoming godlike. There was so much more for me to do, I was planning on backtracking to complete a few tasks and get tooled up for the finale but never felt like had really needed it as I had been surviving okay on my broken suit. Turns out my oldest save is just before the hospital bit, after Limansk, in a level entry point that prevents changing location.
