Seems like a stupid question I know, but I feel really good when I can sing along with songs that I like, just gives me a sense of goodness. But the thing is, I'm not very capable of learning them unless the words are very clear and slow paced. Any of you guys know the best way to learn lyrics for songs bar sitting infront of a monitor staring at lyrics and attempting to sing along with them?
Thanks :D

The best way in my opinion is to just have the lyrics in front of you and start singing. And sing the song multiple times. It shouldn't be long before you can just remember the lyrics.

Literally just keep practising the song until you get it.

Learn an instrumental:D

:p :D

You suggested the best method... Repetition. Sing along with the song, a lot.

No, noob, the best method is to try writing them down from memory. Miss the bits you can't remember. Listen to the song again then try again.

You only truly know a song if you can write its lyrics down from memory.

Take it from me, this is the method the pro's use.

Are you deliberately trying to troll? I can't tell...

As you were. I couldn't care less about your pro friends and how awesome you are.

I've always found it super easy to learn lyrics, regardless of the type of song. You can even throw me an Eminem track such as 'No Love' and I can do it exactly the same speed after a few attempts.

I've been gigging for 42 years and have an inability to learn lyrics so I use "Pokeman cards" on stage which are 1/4 A4s with lyrics that attach to a crocodile clip on my mic stand.
More recently I've beem using my Android Tablet on a music stand.

That's a nice idea :)

This is what the singer in one of my bands does - he has a little clip on music stand with lyric prompts on. I also use this as a guitarist with hand-drawn lead sheets if I'm depping for someone.

These are my Pokeman cards but I now use the ASUS Transformer (that is an Advent Vega in the picture) :

surely just listening to the song multiple times with the lyrics nearby for those hard to understand words/songs.

especially if its a song you actually like, takes no time at all to pick up

Exactly.

I know the lyrics to all my favourite songs, because of how much I listen to them

I even know the words to Mars Volta - Tetragrammaton

You can get programs to download the lyrics for your mp3's to your iPod and read them on there, thats what I do
