The fan on my old 7800GTX seems to have had better days, as the card at idle is quite warm (65-67C). It's not too dusty, so I think the fan is just giving up
as it is very old.
Looking for a replacement for it, not sure what to get though. There are plenty of newer coolers that claim they fit it, but with such an old card there are no reviews/pictures with them fitting or if there was any issues. All the coolers that were reviewed for it are discontinued now (like the arctic silencer). I'm also not sure if it's a reference pcb or not, can't remember if manufacturers made their own back then or just stuck with reference. The card is a MSI NX7800GTX 256MB. I saw another card that looked just the same, but was Gigabyte, so I think it's reference, not sure though.
So any suggestions? or just going to have to grab one that claims it fits and hope for the best?
Thanks.
