Hard to believe I am writing this still a bit in shock.
Cut a long story short I had a big operation on my foot to have it fused (screwed) to my ankle. This time it was on my right foot I had my left done a few years back. I have been walking about 6 weeks after being in plaster for 3 months.
I got the go ahead to start driving so I started this week. Popped down the local post office in the car and returned back home. Got out, locked it and started to walk back in then remembered I forgot the receipt so returned to the car and got in the drivers seat. Found the receipt and got half way out when the car parked about a car length in front suddenly reversed back at speed smashing the front of my car pushing it back. My right foot got jammed between the front wheel and the kerb then the open drivers door hit me throwing me about 6 feet.
Can believe it, been driving 20 years without incident, the first one I have I get run down by my own car. After a day in hospital I am back in plaster, my neck and back are sprained and I am covered in bruises on my back and arms (one from the door, the other from hitting the floor).
Both cars survived very well but I took the brunt. Police made me laugh though, as I was being loaded into the ambulance they noted to me next time I should look before leaving my vehicle. Can't believe I was parked in a bay, I didn't expect a car a good 15-20 feet away would fly back and hit mine.
