I've never even heard of The Last Story, so it's clearly not that big. .

more fool you. I dont even have a Wii and i know the game is a big launch on the system.
you know what Final Fantasy is right? might be worth putting two and two together before you make ridiculous statements in future.

Well I have just deleted my toolbar shortcuts to Gameplay and GAME. The last game I bought from them online was DA:Origins; they are just not competitive in the online arena imo. Gameplay were good but there is no way I am using Gamestation.com - they are worse than bad and don't see them improving if they have GAME behind them with all the troubles they are bringing to the table.

I know what it is and who is behind it after I googled it.

The point I'm making is that I consider myself a fairly serious gamer, yet I'd not heard anything about it, further to that I've seen no advertising of it, which is how you sell products.

Put yourself in Game's shoes, especially given that most serious Gamers say they don't shop there... Is a JRPG with practically no advertising campaign really going to be a big seller for people walking in off the street? With their current stock purchasing issues why take the risk? They can use more of the money available to borrow on AAA titles they know they can sell.

Good point - I have seen no advertising for it either and I subscribe to 2 games mags. I heard about it from these forums.

Ive never heard of it either, I read Games TM every month and dont remember them doing any articles about it.

Same, then again it's one of those games for gays. Rpg thingies where you level up and everything else levels up as well, so you are in the exact same spot as you were when you started. With that in mind I would have ignored the thread on here when I saw RPG in the title :p
Does the J in Jrpg stand for junior?

j/k before the gays are outraged and threaten to beat me down with +1 damage.

ps kotor was awesome

yup me to. They have done some articles, but it has hardly been high profile and no adverts that I have noticed. I pick up the odd copy of Edge as well and have not seen anything in there.

But this I would argue is one of the compaies big problems - when GAME had just taken over EB they still had there focus on 'core' gamers back then they had plenty of stock of JRPGS and many other obscure titles but it seems in subsequent years they lost this and sold out to the fickle mass market of 40+ mothers wanting a Wii fit, family fortunes and those wanting COD (nothing wrong with the latter BTW)
It just seems that as soon as they stopped catering for hardcore gamers and moved there focus they started to decline, GS suffered the same fate not long after being brought by Game group - Its a real shame to see it go this way but at the end of the day higher managment are to blame for all of this (I'm looking at you Lisa Morgan et al!!!!!!!!)

It was EB who bought Game, but that aside.

I think you missed the bit about the effect that internet sales has had though...

I used to shop at Game for all my games when I was younger. From mid 00s onwards, online retailers were offering games at cheaper prices, with delivery for the release date.

The only reason I don't shop with Game anymore is simply because their prices are no longer competitive to what I can buy online.

Thus the market they now cater for in their stores are people who walk in off the street, people not so clued up on games (parents etc), people who buy all their games via trade-in (While older people do this as well, a lot of kids use this method) and those people who only tend to buy the AAA titles like Fifa, COD etc.

Used my Gameplay.co.uk voucher on the Gamestation website yesterday for MS points.
Got cancellation email this morning, apparently for the time being they wont accept Paypal. Dont know if it is an issue or not.

So had to call and re-order over the phone using my card.
