Im building an UltraBook for my boss and since there's no DVD Drive I'm using a USB pen drive.

I've made the Windows 7 Pro image bootable on the USB Pen drive using WinToFlash. However when bootinf from the USB and going through the install it complains there are no drivers for my hardware.

I've got all the Acer Aspire S3-951 drivers and put them on the USB pen drive but when I go to select them it says the drivers failed to install. So instead I want to inject these drivers into Windows 7 ISO and make that bootable. I had a program ages ago that did this for you but I can't remember what it was called. It was a third party software. Any help would be greatly appreciated, my boss is on my ass lol

nLite!! That's the one I used to put Sata drivers in my WinXP image for a netbook. Will give it a try for Windows 7

EDIT: Doesn't support Windows 7 :(

managed to use another another ISO of Windows 7 Pro with WinToFlash and nor working :) Just installing the drivers now. Shame none of the above programs worked, that R7 Seven tool looks really useful but buggy

my method works perfectly. i didn't just google it, i've used it before myself. infact i just ran it again to prove it.....

i copied install.wim to the root of my f: drive and i had to manually create a folder called test first...

install%20wim.png

copy the updated install.wim to your usb key \sources folder replacing the old one, job done.

Yeah Im sure that works, but tbh using a different ISO that magically had all the drivers on was easier ;)

edit: how culd you burn that wim file onto a DVD or use it as a bootable USB?

as i mentioned in my previous post, for a usb key install just replace the existing x:\sources\install.wim with the updated one created during this process. i don't know what folder structure wintoflash uses because i use the official MS usb tool but i can't imagine it being too hard to find out.

i'm sure you could make a new bootable DVD but optical media is dead to me. i have no use for it. :p
