Which is best? I'd be looking at the £7.99 lovefilm package (unlimited streaming/dvd/blu-ray, one disk at a time). Mums paying for it so the price difference is a non-issue :p. TIA

Netflix stream quality is better but they both only have old, low budget or foreign subtitled films with a few decent ones thrown in. I subscribed to both for the free 30 day trial, ended up cancelling both as i only wanted to stream movies but quickly ran out of films to watch.

I've tried both. Prefer NF.

LF has a wider choice of films for rental via disc. Online streaming was limited to 2hrs (lawl) when I was with them for £5.99 a month. I left because almost 90% of my bluray rentals were duff. The iPad app for accessible streaming content was very flaky too. Cancelling LF is a lesson in sheer patience and they literally bombard you with emails+letters to return once you leave - very poor imo.

NF on the otherhand has a far superior streaming tech. The NF UK studio support is poor atm given that it has just come over here. There aren't many latest films, however the film catalogue for 80's & 90's flicks is huge. TV Show support is also very good and streaming is unlimited.

I have just begun using US NF via UnblockUS and that has a virtually every show/film out there.

Cheers for the replies :).

Went with love film in the end, it just looks to have a much bigger library.

Netflix has an immensely larger library!
Just install stealthy to either chrome or Firefox.

You can then use the UK/US/Canada Netflix libraries at the flick of a button ;)

Watched 3 seasonsof a TV show on the UK one them switched to the US one for the next 2 seasons :p

Steraming quality on lovefilm I found quite pants tbh, even using the US and Canadian Netflix ones seems instantly noticeably better. Full HD and 5.1 available also.

theres also a quick DNS change you can make on your Xbox or PS3 in order to access the US ones without having to do anything else :)

wow - just used that and gave a whole new library! However it keeps giving me a streaming error. Any tricks to get streaming to work?

edit - working ok now. I guess it gives a random proxy and some are better than others.

Got stealthy working myself over the weekend. The US netflix library is awesome. Plan to relive some old Trek's :p

You can turn stealthy off once you're into the program you want, and it'll continue buffering (but without the lags).

I dont mind waiting an extra few seconds for a page if I can get 5x the content on there!

I've had a few hiccups with it, one way I read on here was once its started caching the video you wanna play turn off stealthy.

Not had any problems with it recently, proxy hiccup every now and again but a quick F5 resolves that.

I've installed chrome now and set stealthy to auto start with homepage as netflix, that way the proxy doesnt interfere with my usual browsing on firefox :)

Lovefilm.

Trying the trial of Lovefilm at the moment, alongside a trial of Netflix.

Netflix is a bit poor to be honest. The streaming is good quality, however frankly, the films on it are rubbish, and a bit old.

Even saying that they haven't got the best old films... No Rocky, Rambo, Star Wars etc....

If they could expand their film base it wouldn't be a bad option, but lovefilm would still win for me as you can get a physical copy of the film...
