hey guys, my Antec Kuhler H2O 620 has been making an unbearably annoying vibrating/rattling sound for the past few months, it isnt coming from the cpu block, the sound is coming from the pump itself (unlike other people i found on the internet with similar problems)

I purchased this watercooling kit from a well known and reputable website which everyone seems to flock to to buy things cheaply and reliably.

I have only had this watercooling kit for about 5 months (as that is when i built my rig) so do i need to return it somehow to said business, or shall i RMA it via Antec themselves?

Also how long will this process take? i am inclined to leave the rig in pieces once it is apart until i get the new unit, because the cpu backplate access hole isnt large enough, so i am required to take out the entire motherboard (and of course everything else that might be in the way)

Thoughts..? What would you do..?

Cheers guys

oh and of course, if you have any suggestions as to how i might be able to sort this out myself without having to send it back, they would be welcomed also. I have tried the watercooling kit mounted both ways, i have mounted it tightly and loosely either way up, i have tried shaking it to let bubbles pass through etc.

Applying pressure to the side of the pump reduces the noise, the noise also gets less prominent when i run prime and the coolant warms up.

Someone suggested that i should plug the fan and pump into two different fan headers instead of daisychainig the wires, would that actually help? and also someone said to check in the bios and make sure that the fan/pump is on 100% speed, and it is on 100% speed.

Another thing to note is that the fan i am using is not the supplied antec fan, it is a lian li 12cm fan which was originally in the back of my chassis as an exhaust fan.

buy a noctua d-14, send 920 to antec for RMA, when it returns, sell it

:D :p :D

LOL

I would speak to antec directly and create a RMA, in the mean time use your stock heatsink or get something which you may like to try and if they RMA it, then you can sell the heatsink you don't want.

Or option B leave PC dismantled for duration of RMA (This is something I couldn't do).

yeah i may start the RMA process somewhen soon then, but that said the p.c is running- ... ok i was about to say "but that said the computer is running really smoothly and quietly cos i ran prime to shut it up a little while ago" but just as i was typing that it started rattling again ¬_¬ *headphones on*

i could quite easily leave my p.c dismatled :P i could use my PS3 for gaming temporarily and one of my other computers for general use :) (my important files are on a home server anyway so its fine)

people tend to lump thier broken computers on me because they cant be bothered to fix them, and a couple of years of making working computers out of broken ones has left me with 7 to choose from xD

I would contact them straight away then :)

how much do you suppose I could get for a brand new Kuhler 620? (the only thing missing being the cellophane wrapping) :D bearing in mind that a B Grade one is £54.98 on OC?

*edit* [i'm not attempting to market or sell this item, merely to enquire of its potential value if i were to sell it elsewhere] oh and remember not to say a business name in the reply xD like "maybe £XX.XX on *******" lol :p
