Travel Insurance Advice

Hi all.

I am totally new to this as have never been abroad or had a passport before (come from a poor family).

I am looking to book my first holiday abroad with my girlfriend next week and have been looking at the travel insurance.

I currently own a Halifax Ultimate Reward account and one of the benefits is family travel insurance.

My question is, would this be okay, or is it not worth much and should i select to include travel insurance when i book though the Thompson webpage next week?

Yeah it is fine to use. I have been using my LTSB account one for years.

You should check the terms of the insurance, sometimes you'll only get the absolute basics, for example, if you lose your passport or if your flight is delayed.

I always use the Post Office for travel insurance and get the Premium with no excess. It's a few pounds more than normal cover but I see it as a few pounds well spent.

Do i need to ring up Halifax to let them know prior to the flight or not?
